BARBARESCO
DOCG

Grape: Nebbiolo
Vineyard: the area where the Barbaresco is
produced is north – east of Alba, in the vine – growing district of Barbaresco,
Treiso and Neive.
Production: 9 % of the total.
Vinification technique: alcoholic fermentation with
maceration of the skins and must at an approximate temperature of 25 – 28°C.
The wine, according to the guidelines, is aged in oak wine – casks for over two
years and in bottle for over one year, before it is put on sale. In good
vintages, Barbaresco enjoys an even longer ageing period in bottle, acquiring
harmony and greater wealth of scents.
Characteristics: with a garnet red colour and warmer reflections, it is a refined and generous wine, dry, smooth, with a pleasant balance. It has class, harmony and a charming liveliness, and these qualities make it an extremely versatile wine. It offers to the nose a wide range of sensations, fruit, withered flowers, spices.
An
excellent wine to accompany first courses, meat, game and cheeses.
